Neighbors Helping Neighbors Greene County is a grassroots, non-affiliated initiative created by Alexandra Tighe on August 29th, 2011 in response to the devastation Hurricane Irene caused throughout the County. In the days and weeks immediately following the storm, volunteers worked to provide vital services to flood victims.
With the support of donations and volunteers, we continue to provide ongoing services and support to flood victims and other county residents in need by providing emergency assistance to families, fundraising to support short term community recovery, and organizing various community projects, such as Holiday Gift Assistance, Prom Dress Drive, and Furniture Assistance.
